Embracing lifestyle in digital era
Life in Pakistan is a fantastic mixture of family values, cultural traditions, and a growing modern influence, where people cherish close-knit relationships and find happiness in community gatherings. In past it was common tradition for families to meet on events like weddings , religious festivals and other celebrations. The modern era changes these get together into the digital shift, one of the most significant changes in social life is the advent of social media and smartphones. The social media platforms have allowed people to stay in touch, even if they live far apart from each other.
While this has its benefits , keeping people connected across long distances, it has also reduced the face to face communication. Nowadays our youth are becoming addicted to social media and spending their time mostly in virtual world. Unfortunately, this modern life leads people to the feeling of isolation and loneliness, especially among older generations who may not be comfortable with this new technology. Our youth are mostly transforming into introverted personalities from the mental health issues and suffering from depression stress and anxiety problems because of spending long hours on devices. Sitting for long periods can cause all kinds of health problems like back and neck pain, especially if we're not sitting properly. Our posture can suffer, and if we’re not getting up and moving around, it’s easy to gain weight. Staring at a screen for hours can give us eye strain, leaving our eyes feeling tired and dry.
Even parents are too busy and not have time for their children and their relationships are getting affected badly because of less interaction with each other. In today’s fast paced world, we might mask our sadness or depression with the fleeting happiness found on social media. We must need to encourage a balanced lifestyle in this modern era , where technology used as a tool to enhance connections, rather than replacing the meaningful interactions. There is a need that parents should set boundaries for screen time, and prioritizing family activities. Our youth needs to get engaged with their elder ones and make this new trend friendly for them by guiding them about how to use the social media platform. Let’s come together to protect the mental and emotional health of our future generations and build a more connected and passionate community for all. It's important for individuals to balance their digital and real world.
